Project 2: Self-Expression through Architectural Space
ME IN SPACE
This is a project which aims to expand on the interpretation of the self (or multiple selves) and how this is tobe expressed spatially.
The concept for this project is ‘Perception’. The inspiration of this project is the human body itself, giving our structure a shape based on a human ear pinna, our structure is designed to be experienced through the senses that we have, in order to ‘perceive’ this space.
This structure is to be experienced as a personal space in which the interacting individuals are able to relax without having to worry too much about the peeking eyes of other people. The cover is designed to serve as a valve for sight which only allows the person to look out from the inside but not the other way round.

Learning Outcome
I have learned to identify and articulate basic design principles in spatial organization through this project. In this project, I have learned to express myself through a space. It is a great experience to working out with my groupmates. Besides, I have also learned to distinguish and discern the role of scale and proportion in the relationship between the human body and a designed space or enclosure. Then, I have learned how to design and produce a space that embodies and expresses an idea or conceptual narrative. It also gives the opportunity for me to have verbal presentation to present our work.
