Design Intention of VIC
Pulau Besar Visitor Interpretive Centre is based on the concept of 'Spiritualness' of the island. The concept have derived from the experience on the island and the interesting myths and legends that give a sense of spiritualness to make this island mysterious. The spiritualness sense in every unique legend attraction spot have made me to believe this island is having two different kind of spaces, which one is our human space and one is the spiritual space. VIC is located at the chosen site allows visitors have to take a journey to explore around the island first and then visit the VIC.
In order to give a strong feeling for the visitor to experience the spiritual space, a level of the VIC has submerge underground, but the ramp which require visitor to walk down slowly to the spiritual space (lower ground level) unintentionally. Then, visitors will take the stairs up to the human space (ground level) with a stunning beautiful scenery of the sea by the site. This journey experience in the VIC indicates the moment which will experience by the visitors while they are exploring around on Pulau Besar. The moment when it brings you a sense of spiritualness but you are not aware of the changes and you will realise that you have been draw back to the human space by the impressive sea scenery around the island, and this will let you forget about the feeling of spiritualness at the moment.

Learning Outcome
In this project, I am managed to generate design based on the unique character and conditions of the site context, and through conscious consideration of section-plan relationship with considerations of human scale, natural light, materials/ texture. Besides, I have learned to design a small scale community building which response to the site (site topography, history and socio-cultural events), functional program and users’ experiences. Finally, I am able to produce drawings (both 2D and 3D), modelling and verbal presentation to communicate and visualize architectural design and ideas.
A lot more consideration and improvement needed in design concept and development to produce a better design. Strong arguement and reasoning is essential in every design stages and elements of a design of architecture. Experience is the mother of wisdom, important lessons have learned after the experience of this interesting project.
